What is HAM-Tools?

A native macOS app for radio amateurs, focused on:

  • Logbook with all the usual award workflows (DXCC, WAZ, WAS, POTA, SOTA, WWFF, BOTA)
  • Contest logger with Cabrillo V3 export for the most important major contests
  • CAT connection for Yaesu / Icom / Kenwood / Elecraft via Hamlib
  • Antenna calculators for wire antennas, directional antennas, special antennas, coils

Distributed as a DMG with Apple notarization — Gatekeeper-friendly. License system with built-in update distribution (Cmd+Opt+U), model Lifetime + 12 months of updates.

Quick Start

Requirement

macOS 14 (Sonoma) or newer — tested up to macOS 26 (Tahoe). Apple Silicon or Intel. macOS 12/13 is not supported — see FAQ.

  1. Download the DMG and drag it into /Applications
  2. Launch the app (on first open, possibly System Settings → Privacy)
  3. Paste your license string in Settings → License (or try the 50-QSO demo)
  4. Enter your own callsign in Settings → Station
  5. Log your first QSO in the Logbook tab
